Things To Know

Choosing an extended care facility can prove to be very challenging for family members.  It may be one of the hardest transitions your loved one has to endure.  When choosing an assisted living facility you should consider the following:

  • Understand what your loved one is used to.  Moving into a community living setting is hard enough, so you want to avoid overwhelming them.  Some residents do very well in large establishments, while others thrive in small settings.  This is an important consideration when looking for placement.
  • Ensure the establishment is licensed by the state they are in.  Always ask to see the latest survey results.
  • What is included in the daily/monthly room rate?
  • Understand that no facility can guarantee complete safety – if you or your loved one is falling at home, then they will likely fall here – we try to reduce injury related to falls.
  • Recognizes and affirms the unique and intrinsic worth of all individuals.
  • Respects and is dedicated to protecting residents rights.
  • Strives to exceed the expectations of its residents, families, hospital, and community.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the physical, behavioral, spiritual, cultural and emotional needs of every individual.
  • Acts in a manner of absolute integrity, honesty, fairness and ethics in the way in which business is conducted and services are provided.
